Privacy Policy

Effective date: Sep 1, 2019 Last updated: Oct 1, 2026

Cuisine Solutions, Inc. and its affiliates (“Cuisine Solutions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through cuisinesolutions.com and its localized versions (English, French, Thai, and Arabic), how we use and share that information, and the choices and rights available to you.

This policy applies to our website and to related activities such as contact and sales inquiries and email marketing. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, including lecrea.com (CREA Academy) and our job application portal, which operate under their own privacy policies. See Section 12 for how job applications are handled.

1. Who we are

The controller responsible for your personal information is:

Cuisine Solutions, Inc. 22445 Sous Vide Lane, Unit 100 Sterling, VA 20166, USA Phone: +1 703 270 2900 (Toll free: +1 888 285 4679) Email: [info@cuisinesolutions.com]

We also operate through affiliated entities, including Cuisine Solutions France (Ecoparc d’Heudebouville, BP 703, 27407 Louviers Cedex, France) and Cuisine Solutions Thailand (Bangkok and Chonburi). Where your inquiry is handled by one of these entities, that entity may act as a controller or joint controller of your information.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

When you submit a customer service or business inquiry form, subscribe to our mailing list, apply for a role, or otherwise contact us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details — first name, last name, email address, telephone number
  • Business details — company name, job title, industry, country or region, where you provide them
  • The content of your message — product questions, complaints, sales or partnership inquiries, and anything else you choose to include
  • Marketing preferences — whether you have opted in to receive communications from us, and your subsequent opt-outs

Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as health, financial account, or government ID numbers) in free-text form fields.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language settings
  • Usage data — pages viewed, time spent on pages, scroll and click activity, referring and exit pages, search terms used to reach the site, and the date and time of your visit
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address at the city or region level
  • Cookie and identifier data — see Section 3

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from advertising and analytics platforms (such as Google, Meta, and LinkedIn), from publicly available business sources, and from trade shows, industry events, and partners — for example, where you provided your details to a partner who is permitted to share them with us.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the site, understand how it is used, and measure the performance of our marketing.

3.1 Categories of cookies we use

Category Purpose Set with your consent?
Strictly necessary Core site functions, security, load balancing, and recording your cookie preferences No — required for the site to work
Functional Remembering your language selection and preferences, enabling embedded media and social sharing features Yes
Performance / Analytics Measuring traffic, understanding which pages and content are most useful, diagnosing errors Yes
Advertising / Targeting Measuring ad campaign performance and showing you relevant advertising on other platforms Yes

We manage these categories through our cookie consent banner. You can change your choices at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the banner or the link in our site footer.

3.2 Third-party tools we use

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) — measures site traffic and how visitors interact with our pages. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* containing a randomly generated identifier. We use this data in aggregate to improve the site. Learn more at policies.google.com/privacy, and opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc. / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and allows us to reach people who have visited our site. The pixel sets cookies such as _fbp. Learn more at facebook.com/privacy/policy and manage your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Corporation / LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company) — measures the performance of our LinkedIn advertising and provides aggregated, anonymized reporting on visitors to our site. Learn more at linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy and manage your settings in your LinkedIn account.
  • YouTube (Google LLC) — we embed videos hosted on YouTube. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set cookies and collect data about your interaction with it, as described in Google’s privacy policy.
  • Cookie consent management — our consent tool stores your preferences in cookies prefixed cookielawinfo- and viewed_cookie_policy so that we do not repeatedly ask you.

These providers act as independent controllers or as our processors depending on the service. Where they act as independent controllers, their own privacy policies govern their use of the data.

3.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no common standard has been adopted. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law, treating it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your customer service, product, and business inquiries
  • Process and follow up on complaints and product quality issues
  • Send you marketing communications about products, services, recipes, promotions, and events, where you have asked to receive them
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and its content
  • Analyze site traffic and understand which content and products are of interest
  • Measure and improve the performance of our advertising campaigns
  • Comply with legal obligations, including food safety, tax, and recordkeeping requirements
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, and prevent fraud or misuse of the site

We do not sell your personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising or “targeted advertising” under certain US state privacy laws — see Section 10.2 for how to opt out.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

Processing activity Legal basis
Responding to inquiries and providing support Performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to you
Sending marketing emails Your consent, or legitimate interest in business-to-business marketing where permitted
Analytics and advertising cookies Your consent
Strictly necessary cookies and site security Our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website
Legal and regulatory compliance Compliance with a legal obligation

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. You may object to this processing at any time — see Section 10.1.

6. How we share your information

We share personal information with:

  • Service providers who act on our instructions, including website hosting and maintenance, email and CRM platforms, form processing, analytics, customer support, and IT security providers
  • Advertising and analytics partners, as described in Section 3.2
  • Our affiliates and group companies in the United States, France, and Thailand, where needed to respond to your inquiry or manage our global operations
  • Professional advisors, including lawyers, auditors, and insurers
  • Authorities and regulators, where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property
  • An acquirer or successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections

We require our service providers to process personal information only as instructed and to apply appropriate safeguards.

7. International data transfers

Cuisine Solutions operates globally. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, France, Thailand, and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country.

Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable), together with supplementary technical and organizational measures. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting us at [info@cuisinesolutions.com].

8. How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Inquiry and support records — [e.g. 3 years] from your last contact with us
  • Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again
  • Analytics data — in line with the retention settings of the relevant platform (for example, [14] months in Google Analytics)
  • Cookies — for the duration stated in our cookie settings panel; our consent cookies expire after 11 months

We may retain information for longer where needed to comply with legal obligations or to establish or defend legal claims.

9. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. These include encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular review of our systems and vendors. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your privacy rights

10.1 EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erase your information in certain circumstances
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Data portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In France, this is the CNIL (cnil.fr); in the UK, the ICO (ico.org.uk)

10.2 United States

Depending on your state of residence — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and the sources and purposes
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To opt out of targeted advertising on this site, select Cookie Settings and decline the Advertising category, or enable a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.

We do not use personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

10.3 Thailand

If you are in Thailand, you have rights under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent, and the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee.

10.4 How to exercise your rights

Contact us at [info@cuisinesolutions.com] or by post at the address in Section 1. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and may ask for additional information for that purpose. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law, subject to verification.

10.5 Marketing opt-out

You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any message, or by emailing us at [info@cuisinesolutions.com]. We will continue to send you service-related messages, such as responses to your inquiries.

11. Third-party links and embedded content

Our site contains links to third-party websites, including CREA Academy, our social media profiles, and partner sites. Pages on this site may also include embedded content such as YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the third-party site directly: the provider may collect data about you, set cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, including where you are logged in to their service.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Careers and job applications

We do not accept job applications through this website. Our Careers page describes our company and locations and links out to our job application portal, which is hosted by ApplicantPro (isolved Talent Acquisition) at cuisinesolutionsandegs.applicantpro.com.

When you follow that link, you leave this website. Any personal information you submit — including your CV or résumé, work history, education, and contact details — is collected and stored on ApplicantPro’s platform. ApplicantPro’s own privacy notice applies to that platform and is available at applicantpro.com/privacy.

Cuisine Solutions remains responsible as the controller for applicant information submitted to us through that portal, and ApplicantPro processes it on our behalf. We use applicant information to evaluate your application, communicate with you about the role, and meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations as an employer. Questions about how we handle applicant data, or requests to exercise your rights over it, can be sent to [info@cuisinesolutions.com].

13. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for business and professional audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [info@cuisinesolutions.com] and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Where changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice.
